SATC 2

I am one of the biggest Sex and the City fans ever, and so you can imagine my joy when the first film came out last year, however, i left the film a little disappointed to say the least. I had high hopes for the sequel but again came out disappointed evan more than the first time. The films just aren't as real as the series used to be, however it definitely delivered in the fashion stakes as usual, and it is reported ruffly $11 million dollars was spent out outfits and accsessories!

I was so excited when Carrie wore not 1 but 4 Halston Herritage dresses. Halston is one of my all time fave american designers some of his pieces are classic. I'm lucky enough to own two Halston pieces, one item i bought from a boot sale for £2, im not too sure the woman realised how much Halston pieces usually sold for, anyway lucky me. Ive pictured below the four herritage dresses, my fave is the beautiful orange dress.

The two best outfits of the film, in my opinion, were the Julien McDonald dress worn by Miranda and the jumpsuit ensemble worn by Carrie.

Here's some other great items worn in the film.

Brian Atwood Loca Studded Heels

Yves Saint Laurent embossed clutch with crystal clasp

Retro Christian Dior Newspaper print dress which Carrie wore back in season 3

East End Thrift Store

Off to one of my favourite thrift stores today. Its having one of its regular jumble sales in which you buy a medium bag for £10 or a large bag for £20 and then you grab everything you like and try and stuff it all into your bag, its an absolute bargain and i always get some great pieces. Downside is everyone loves this event and it is always so busy, the q's are unbelievable, and so for that reason im getting up at 7am on a sunday morning, what us gals do for fashion :-) il post my buys on here tomoz x

matryoshka doll

I have an obsession with matryoshka dolls right now (russian dolls) i think they are really cute and quirky and i have officially gone russian doll mad, ive been buying bags , earings, necklaces, purses, headbands etc, there is also some great fabric around with the russian doll print on it and i have found a really nice piece of material to make into a dress. (ive pictured a few of my recent purchases below) x

This is the material im purchasing to make my dress and im going on the basis of this pattern of a 1950s rockabilly dress.

My Summer Wishlist

So its that time of year again, Summer, yay......holidays, festivals, sunbathing and all night partying and an excuse to buy loads more stuff for your summer wardrobe. Every year i draw up my wishlist of every outfit (down to the last detail such as jewellery) that i want for all my up and coming events :-) below ive listed a few of my fave must haves this year, not all this seasons collections, but hot stuff watever.

I love love love this Topshop Kiss-O-Meter dress. It came out last year and was 50£ but it flew of the shelves and i never managed to bag myself one, however ive been on the hunt and found it on ebay for 20£ which a baragain. Im buying for one of my many outfits for Reading Festival. (Just have to throw some love Fearne Cottons way right now she looks good in everything she wears, i want this girls wardrobe!!!!)

I will actually cry if i do not get these boots for Reading. The Vivienne Westwood Melissa boots are sooo gorgous and the must have fashion festival item. I have my eye on both pairs , the purple ones to go with the kiss-o-meter dress above as i think this make a cute outfit, i also love the navy with gold buttons pair as they run with the whole nautical trend going on right now. They are currently on sale at asos for £90. Im praying these boots go in the sale after a few months, for a student £90 is quite pricey to spend on plastic boots, i could have like 10 nights out on that lol

First up are the 'hot right now' black leather gold studded Phillip Lim gloves. All the celebs are in them and set u back a measly (lol) £360 from net-a-porter.com, next are the most outragous but gorgeous Sass & Bide bullet paneled leggings which are £890 and again from net-a-porter.com. Both of these teamed with a black lace top to the hips and YSL tributes is one outfit which is sure to turn heads...hmmmmm i want

Miu Miu Pink Swallow print silk shoes with gems, need i say anymore. I saw these a few months back and have dreamed of owning them ever since. People went mad for them when they came out and they have now, apparently, sold out worldwide, sadtimes. But at a cool 2,140$ i doubt i could of afforded them anyway. Second pair are from Miss KG range of Kurt Geiger. These shoes came out last year and were pretty popular, and so are back out again this year. They are only 80£ at debenhams and they look so good on.

This picture does these shorts no justice. They are cream lambskin leather shorts by chloe and cost about £1,205, they feel really nice on and are a lovely summer must have. Second piccy is from Pixie Lott's new range at Lipsy. Although my favourite clothing is vintage and individual pieces you won't find everyone else in, i am an essex girl at heart and love nothing more than a lipsy item to make me feel ready and dressed up for a night out. This studded fringed waistcoat is £38 and is a festival must have.

Ok so judging by the price of some of the things on my wishlist you can probably assume i wnt be purchasing them and the term 'wish' is very apt, a gal can dream though right, i mean come on we don't all buy vogue to find out what our next purchase is going to be, we buy it too drool over the things we want and the things rich bitches have.

2.55

All fashion lovers out there, in fact all women out there desire to own the 2.55 in there lifetime, am i right or am i right. The 2.55 is one of the most iconic designer bags out there, and according to many fashion sources there are two bags all fashionistas should know about; the Hermes Birkin and the Chanel 2.55 ( i think i would also add the fendi baguette to this list)

It was designed by Coco Chanel in Feb 1955 (2/1955) hence the name 2.55. It was introduced as an alternative to the clutch bag and it introduced the chain strap which enabled women to carry their purse on their arm rather than in their hands. The famous quilted design of the bag came from Chanel's love of horse racing and was based on the quilted coats worn by the jockeys, it can be made of silk, lambskin, caviar leather, or calfskin and comes in a range of colours. The use of the brown/maroonish lining and double chains on the bag stems back to Chanel's childhood in an orpahanage and relates to the colour of the uniform she had to wear in the convant and the caretakers chain from which the keys dangled from. The 2.55 also contains a secret pocket inside the front flap, and it is said Chanel designed this to hide love letters from her beau in it. In 2005, to commemorate its 50th anniversary, Karl Lagerfield launced the Reissue Chanel 2.55 and used the original mademoiselle lock rather the inerlocking C's, also known as the classic flap, that were introduced in the 80s. The average price of this bag will set you back around £1200 starting price.

Ok so history of this beautiful ,well crafted, super stylish, super status bag out of the way, i have to own this bag and this is the summer. Since i first found out about this bag i said i would have the black lambskin classic flap one by the time i was 20, wel im now 22 and no closer to getting one. So ive decided to put my time off to good use, get a well paid job and save for this bag. I am determined and i will keep you updated on how well my saving is going.

Below is a picture of the black lambskin classic flap 2.55, i prefer this to the caviar leather as it has a much softer feel to it and the caviar leather has a very grainy look to it.

Back to the drawing board

Been wanting to get back in to sketching out ideas and making a mini collection for a while now. I do make clothes but i see something i like and just make that, i dnt draw out my ideas on paper anymore and create my own ideas, so ive gone to the drawing board tonyt, not to design ideas just to get used to drawing again as its been about 4years, and omg to say my sketches were a bit well sketchy isnt the word, looks like il being going back to basic and going over my body shapes and alignments for a bit lol....already have a theme for my design so once im back up to scratch i will be putting pencil to paper and will upload a few piccys.......Heres a few of my awful ameture like drawings lol

My Wardrobe

random post but below are a few of my fave items from my closet..

this vintage top was an absolute find, i got it for £7.99 of ebay and it stil had the price label on when i bought it, it was £110...bargain. It is covered in gun metal hologram sequins, swarovski crystals and red and pearl beads........

this is my favourite peice of clothing. It was bought from a shop that sells vintage designner clothes and it cost my lovely boyfriend £45. I know quite steep for vintage however it is real silk and has beautiful gold intricate detailing under the bust, the lady also said she thinks its a vintage halston piece circa 1980 (hence the price)

this is a beautiful leslie fay 1970s shirt dress

beautiful 100% silk 3.1 Phillip Lim top, bought from nordstorm and was pretty pricey. I think asos or boohoo used a similar design on one of ther tops and at a fraction of the price, was pretty miffed, ol well nothing like the real thing.

best bag in the world, bought it from zara's one of range in paris couple of years ago however was major skint and had barely enough money left to buy anything so i had to return it, i actually cried when i walked away. I searched every zara shop and selling sites over the last two years hoping i would be reunited with it and then i found it on ebay for a fraction of the price earlier this year :-)

Carmena 1970s faux fur jacket £15

i call this my african safari skirt and it was a bargain at 10p

avant garde silk top/dress sample £1

jacques vert silk nautical themed blouse bought it from ebay for £3.50

black silk top covered in hundreds of silver beads, only cost me £2.50, and i love to wear it with cut off denim shorts and a chequed shirt over the top

my mums 1980s jacques vert shirt, comes as part of a suit, i love it

river island dress, i love the bold print and the colours used, it looks great with a tan and is going to be one of my ibiza outfits yay

one of my favourite dresses, ive had it for years and will neva chuck it. Its a cute rockabilly dress that i got from some rock shop. I like wering it with my largest gold creole earings i own and i call it my lily allen outfit ( all i need are the trainers lol)

RAFW

Australia Fashion Week , ok so not in the same league as LFW or PFW but still a fashion week in its own right, and any fashion week has my interest. So it took place couple weeks ago, 3rd - 7th May 2010 to be precise, and there were a few designers that caught my eye and i thought were worth a mention; namely Alex Perry and Dion Lee. Lee's SS10/11 in particular was very eye catching and visualy stimulating, and the way he used the ink blots made me remember back to when i was young and you used to put paint on one half of a piece of paper, folded it over, smudged it a little and tada u had this weird shaped colourful butterflyish style. It also looks like a really cool futuristic x-ray painting of the inside body, is it just me that sees this??? Anyway put a few of my faves from the 'Facade Collection' below. x

Homage to Mcqueen

Okay so first things first i have to pay homage to McQueen. I know his death was a lil while ago now but he was one of my few ultimate favourite designers, and as this blog is dedicated to fashion and designers he no doubtly deserves recognition. It is a sad loss to the fashion world and british fashion in particular. His creations and designs were so innovative and outlandish, take for example his bizarre amardillo shoes creation ( we all know that evan though they look pretty odd compared to the normal shoe we all wana own a pair evan if to just strut our stuff in them round the house, wether id be confident wearing them down the high street is another matter), his ideas coupled with the colours and cuts he used simply make the pieces he created, divine, and heres to his ideas and creations living on. I have added a few pics of my most favourite creations of his (the first piccy being my all time favourite) x
